Dayton Audio DAEX25W-8 Waterproof 25mm Exciter 10W 8 Ohm
The Dayton Audio's DAEX25W-8 exciter is designed to work in extreme environments where normal loudspeakers cannot operate. Outdoor applications are no problem for this hermetically sealed (watertight) exciter which can be attached to surfaces outdoors to create speakers out of everyday items. Garage door, boat cabin structures, garden furniture, etc. can all be made to vibrate using this exciter and thus generate sound.
A high performance 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive disc allows the DAEX25W-8 to be attached to a wide range of materials without any mechanical support required, and an IP67 rating means it is 100% dust-tight and has been immersed in water to a depth of 1 meter for 1 hour without any liquid entering the exciter chamber. A 1.73m long integrated cable is included for connection to an amplifier.
A great field of application for this exciter is so-called DML or flat-panel speakers. DML stands for Distributed Mode Loudspeakers and is a term for speakers that catch the eye with their incredibly slim design.
