The Scan-Speak 130 mm Flow Resistor is a type of aperiodic vent that is used to lower the Q of a loudspeaker in a sealed box. This essentially makes the sealed box woofer act as if it is in a box that is roughly 20% larger. Aperiodic vents work by creating turbulence in the air flow, which dissipates energy and prevents the woofer from resonating at its natural frequency.

Scan-Speak 130 mm Flow Resistor
The Scan-Speak 130 mm Flow Resistor is made of a 3mm thick aluminum sheet with a honeycomb pattern. It is 4.3 inches in diameter and has a cutout size of 4.3 inches. The vent is sold individually, so you will need to order two if you require a pair.
The Scan-Speak 130 mm Flow Resistor is recommended for use in boxes up to 1.5 cubic feet. For larger boxes, you may need to use more than one vent. If your box is really undersized or if you are using a large woofer in a small box, you could use two or more vents to help reduce pressure in the box.
