Specificatios
The Laowa 12mm Cine is currently the widest t/2.9 lens to cover both Full Frame and Vista Vision format, making it an ideal wide-angle lens for both professional camcorders and mirrorless cameras. The circle of coverage allows operators to use both Full Frame sensors (size = 43.14mm) as well as RED Monstros Vista Vision sensors and Arri Alexas Alexa LF sensor (size @ open-gate = 44.7mm). This optic is also ideal for Super35mm users due to the angle of view equivalent to a 17mm.
Laowa Venus Optics 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D CINE Canon EF mountlens can be easily adapted to all sorts of stabilisers including hand-held gimbals. The distortion ratio of quality wide-angle lenses on the market ranges from 2 to 4%. Laowa Zero-D lenses, on the other hand, manage to reduce distortion to a level of approximately zero, as observed by many Zero-D lens users around the world. The Laowa 12mm can focus at an extremely short distance, just 18cm from the sensor. Ultra-wide-angle optics usually create a flat image with a large depth of field, but thanks to its focusing capability and brightness, the Laowa Venus Optics 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D can create a look with reduced depth of field and a pleasing bokeh effect.
